I'm very stoned, the type of stoned that would generally keep me away from the typer or attempting to do anything productive but it's been one of those days... and when i say one of those days i mean one of those brilliant fucking days, a day that wasn't earth shattering or groundbreaking, just fucking great... and of course i could go on about why it was such a good day but i'm not even sure if i know how to put it into words and even if i did knowing myself the way i do i'm sure i'd fuck it up or run off on some tangent and completely miss the point so i'll just shrug, smile and say fuck it, you'll have to take my word for it...
And man if you could have seen the rant i was ready to lay down here last night you'd have laughed your ass off but once again i'm to in the bag to worry or be arsed and someday i might get around to writing it down but for now? nothing, i'm in to good of a mood, half moon high, it's what Nick Disaster sang out in the back of the car tonight as he stared off at the glowing moon, the same Nick who decided to other day as we sat around talking that he thinks he believes in re-incarnation, fucking out of nowhere, just says it all matter of fact, i've no clue where he got it from but that little dude works in mysterious ways...
And the other day i broke out this little record player i scored, tiny built in speakers, so small there are slits in the lid for 12"' to stick out if you put the top down, thing even hooks up to the PC so you can burn vinyl onto your computer which sorta defeats the fucking purpose but i guess is pretty fucking cool if you have an old copy of Diamond Dogs you want to put on the playlist (which is what i'm listening to right now) but the it's the first time i've had a little record player to set next to me and now instead of sitting and wandering aimlessly through the internets i can actually sit and listen and think and it's a fucking gorgeous way to end the day...
So while i was sitting here earlier listening to Iggy Pop it dawned on me that someday all this vinyl was gonna get passed to the boyos and since the old man's taste in music wasn't exactly mainstream maybe i should write down whatever came to mind when i was listening to these records, tell them when i first heard it or how i got into that album, what was happening to their old man at the time, what it has meant down through the years and what it relates to and any other wild ramblings that come to mind either related or not while i'm winding the nights away, now it's time for a bowl of cereal... or two.
