Galaxie 500 / "Don't Let Our Youth Go To Waste" live Pittsburgh
This one is for my brother, one Gulfboot Harpo Nunez Johnson, at times i wish my brother lived a lot closer than an ocean and a continent away, it'd be swell to sit down and drink some tea and discuss the state of the universe, and of course Gulfboot isn't actually related to me but he's the closest thing i have to a brother and when i'm feeling down and out and having a bit of the Mozza Melancholy's it's good to know you got a brother out there... so in the words of Jonathan Richman as sung by Dean Wareham, don't let our youth go to waste... get in your last orders, the bar is closing.

I remember hearing about Galaxy 500 back in my Boston days, but I hadn't heard them before this. Really nice.
Makes me want to sway...
This has cheered me up as I prepare for another days of dreambusting at the omodon factory. Cheers Friar Kono. Mein bruuuder.
God bless small clubs. Man, I'm done with arena shows. I'm usually sitting so far away that it could be a band of impostors on the stage and I'd never know the difference. I like seeing the guitarist form the chords on the neck of his guitar.
Another great sound and guitar work. I'm detecting a little Neil Young in the singer's vocals (but smoother).
Nice selection for your bro.
Jayne- the original band went to Harvard and Dean stated he wanted to do these songs while he could still hit the notes.
Sybil- I'm just a big teddy bear you know. I will add this band is great with headphones and herbal enhancement.
UB- I won't go to an arena show, if i did it'd have to be something really special, of course most of the stuff i listen to will never have to worry about that but a few bands have made it that far and when they do i stop seeing them live, it loses something. There's something about being able to see their expressions and hear the interactions that makes a show that much better.
Don't have a brother. But have the same yen to drink beer and talk about how it all works until the sun comes up. With someone who gets it. Some one who just knows how it is. From the inside out.
