Tis the Season Day 8-Dinosaur Jr - The Lung

Another easy call for those who've been around the lounge for awhile, problem is i dipped into the chrimbo chronic and can't type worth a shit right now, needless to say i've seen this band 5 times and J. do a solo acoustic thing once, fuck Clapton Mr. Mascis is God to us sniffling indie kids and this song is a nice combination of everything i love about his playing, of course it also doesn't hurt that it's the original line-up with Murph and Lou, last time i saw them my ears rang for 4 days due to J.'s 3 full Marshall stacks in a 600 person club, that show also consisted of my friends getting hammered and screaming at the young kids, by kids i mean twentysomething's, it ain't moshing it's slam dancing and then, well, slam dancing into everyone, which i didn't find all that endearing but slightly amusing and annoying, then one attempted to punch me in the face thereby bringing the bouncer to throw him out but me stopping the bouncer and telling him that i gave the guy a ride and if you throw him out i'll have to leave and i really want to see the end of the show, i also saw them at the infamous NYC Lollapolooza in 93, the show that had me smoking massive joints, doing copious amounts of balloons, drinking a 40oz. bottle of malt liquor, a half dozen swigs of whiskey and two hits of really good fucking acid all before 11am, they were actually the last band i saw as the sun was going down in the field i was standing in and then i stumbled to the concessions and bought some lemonade and attempted to eat some food, the heat index was over 100 that day and when the sun went down it was cool and clear and i woke up on the ground and stole a blanket and tried to find the car cuz at this point i could care less about Alice in Chains, as i stumbled toward the exit some girl and her boyfriend asked if they were still checking tickets, i smiled in my stolen blanket and promptly threw up what tasted like lemonade, they tried to run, i stopped them and gasped out, one minute, puked again and told them no they weren't checking for tickets and do you know where the parking lot is? they pointed me in the right direction and i stopped and had a beer with some guys sitting on a cooler and then wandered in the general direction of headlights and miraculously found the car, wrapped my blanket around me like a shawl and stared up at the stars but hell that day could be a post in and of itself so maybe we'll save the rest... so crank up the volume and listen to this band shred, another band i've been listening to for over 20 years now which makes me feel real fucking old.

Craig Ferguson absolutey butchers the info to start, practically none of it is right but who cares.

Good times.

I never understood the worship of Eric Clapton. Truth be told, I think the guy's kind of dull.

I missed out on the 'palooza shows but I *did* attend a few World Series of Rock shows at the old Municipal Stadium.

bet these guys are far more fun in a live show, than in Craig's living room!

I was at that Lollapalooza!
And I love Dinosaur Jr, but I admit, I saw them one day on Jenny Jones (some horrible talk show that came on while I was cleaning) and I was sooo confused...

Sybil- The show in NYC or a different one?

Daisy- right you are, in concert they fucking tear shit up even more, just remember to bring ear plugs or you won't hear anything for a week.
