Tis the Season- Day 20- Johnny Cash - The Beast In Me, 1994

Gulfboot just recently sent me a cd, a disc with an animal theme and this song was the first song on it, a song i've heard many times by a man i've listened to many times, i don't know if Mr. Johnson was trying to tell me something about him or me or both of us but if he was or he wasn't he's right, if you pay any attention at all you know why this makes our holiday list, i'll point you to the end of March and two posts in particular, Ritual of the Habit and Revisionist History: of Men and Myths... there are a few others that drive the point home and i'm sure they'll be more in the future that illustrate why but for now i'll just shut up and look in on my sleeping sons and hope that they turn out nothing like their old man, hope they are all the things that i am not, which when i pull the lint and spare change and half a pack of matches from my pockets is not much... God help the beast in me.

I like Cash but that's a new one to me. He's creepy x 1,000. Wouldn't want him as a brother-in-law.

UB- creepy? i don't find him creepy i think of him more as like a weird uncle who's a reformed bad-ass, you hear about how wild he was when he was younger but all you see is a cool old man.

Mr. Finnell- Do androids dream of electric sheep?

Sybil - X-mas was cool, like watching the boyos tear into shit, makes the old man happy, and JC, Johnny Cash in case Mr. Finnell is confused, be the man.

Nursie- the man drips emotion and he can bring it out of even the most hard cases.

Daisy- quit making me all misty eyed.
