30 years

I would be remiss if i didn't post that 30 years ago, May 18th 1980 (yeah i'm a little late and a thanks for the EC Crew for the reminder) that Ian Curtis took his own life. Shit i named Kid A after him the least i can do is remember right? Besides all these years later after first hearing Joy Division when i was 16 i still listen to them on a regular basis, which i think says something about how intelligent and provocative the music and lyrics the their songs were. Ian Curtis is also the reason i bought that gigantic book of J.G. Ballard's complete short stories, so thanks for the tip Ian. Now let's dance.

If I had another kid I'd like to call him Curtis. Yeah, like that's ever gonna happen.... maybe a grandkid then....

You know Nurse i tried to name my first son Ian Curtis but the girl caught on and forbid it, i settled for Ian Patrick instead, for shit's and giggle i tried to name the second son Curtis but got shot down on that one as well, he got named after a certain character from a Hemingway short story.

oooh....is it Brett? (might suck to find out you're named after a girl...if you're a boy) HA! (my favorite Hemingway novel)

most people think i named my kid after van morrison....but in fact he was named after one of my favorite actors....van johnson.

You need to definitely call the third kid Curtis. After Curtis Mayfield.

Daisy - and the music is still more urgent, relevant, thought provoking than 99.9% of the tripe shovelled on us today.

Nurse - Be careful, remember that story about the lady, the manger and the carpenter?

Twin- Think Big Two-Hearted River.

Gulfboot - This summer i'm officially taking myself out of the gene pool... strippers everywhere are rejoicing... i think, maybe not.
